Explore Canada’s wild side in the beautiful Peace Region of northeastern British Columbia.

The Peace River, a source of power and energy for the province, has given the region its name. It is ice free all winter due to the strength of its current.

Experience life in rural Canada, where moose, bears and foxes live alongside cows and horses.

River-boaters, speed skaters, dancers and long distance runners all fulfill their passions here, and so can you. Go ice fishing at Charlie Lake, horseback riding along the banks of the Peace River, or rock climbing in Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark.

The adventure is yours to take!
High Quality of Life
In 2018, BC Business Magazine named Fort St. John and Dawson Creek the BEST places to work in the Province.

Both cities offer amenities ranging from recreation and entertainment to dining, sports teams to clubs, and hospitals to public transportation.

There are more hours of sunlight in the Peace Region than anywhere else in British Columbia. The arching colours of aurora borealis often light up the night sky.

Northeastern BC has a low cost of living and a strong job market.
High Quality of Instruction
Northern Lights College offers 80 programs. It is a BC Centre of Excellence in three areas: oil and gas, clean energy technology, and aerospace.

The Centre of Training Excellence in Oil and Gas at the Fort St. John campus has a simulated well site training facility.

The Dawson Creek campus is home to the Center of Excellence in Clean Energy Technology. Energy House produces all its energy through renewable energies.

The Centre of Excellence in Aerospace is also on the Dawson Creek campus. It has a 2400 m2 aerospace hangar and a fleet of planes and helicopters.
