Often described as the Harvard of India, Manipal is a university city in Karnataka state and home to the esteemed Manipal University. The institution is home to more than 70,000 students living on campus in a community buzzing with creativity and activity. This is the perfect environment in which to study a postgraduate course.

The nearest cities to Manipal are the traditional temple city of Udupi, which is just a few kilometres away, and the modern city of Mangalore which is about an hour’s drive. With the Arabian sea situated nearby, this is a calm and relaxed environment in which to study.

Education profile

Manipal is a university town and home to one major institution – Manipal University. The university has a 19 colleges where you can study a postgraduate course, with particularly expertise in the business, engineering and health sciences fields.

Accommodation

Manipal University is a campus institution with dedicated accommodation for students. There are three halls of residence on the campus, divided between the different colleges and between male and female. Weather and Climate

Manipal has a tropical climate with hot weather all year round. The temperature peaks between March and May, when it regularly gets above 35C during the daytime. The main monsoon season is between June and August just after the summer season.
