North Dakota is a high plains state in the Midwestern region of the United States of America, bordering with Canada.
It is a state of open-space. Considering its size the state has a population of just 699,628. If space and a steady pace of life is what you are after then North Dakota could be a good place to study in the US.

Religion plays a large part in daily life in the state with it having the most churches per capita of any US state.

One of the state’s major cities Fargo lends its name to the Academy Award-winning, 1996, movie of the same name, although the city appears only once and is only mentioned on two occasions in the whole film.

North Dakota is home to 11 public colleges and universities, many of which offer graduate programs.

Where agriculture is the largest industry in North Dakota, Fargo is also a centre for computing-excellence being home to Microsoft’s second largest campus, with 1,700 employees.

Amazon.com also employs several hundred people in Grand Forks.

North Dakota has the country’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.7%, and is has not reached 5% since 1987 so job prospects in the state remain strong.

Accommodation

Most postgraduates coming to North Dakota choose to live in accommodation provided by the universities, as this is the easiest way to get to know fellow students and settle into university life. Most halls of residence in North Dakota provide postgraduates with furniture, cooking appliances and have places to relax like gyms and cafes.
