The PFH Private University of Applied Sciences is the oldest private, state-recognised university in Lower-Saxony – the 2nd largest state of Germany. Currently about 3,300 students are enrolled in one of the 17 study programmes in Management, Engineering Sciences, Psychology and Business Psychology or in Healthcare Technology. They study either at one of the three campus locations in Göttingen, Stade or Berlin or at one of the distance-learning centres located across Germany and Austria.
PFH - The University for Entrepreneurs
As a university run on entrepreneurial lines, the training of entrepreneurial new blood is an essential cornerstone of the PFH's orientation. The activities pertaining to this topic area are concentrated in the Centre for Entrepreneurship. Imparting entrepreneurship content or an ability to act entrepreneurially as a key qualification cuts across all the PFH's departments.
Through its Board of Trustees and its more than 500 partner companies, the university has excellent links to business throughout Germany and, particularly in the regions of Göttingen und Stade, is embedded in a largely SME-oriented company environment. Entrepreneurial thinking is also reflected in the student body, in the form, for example, of a large percentage of students who specify setting up on their own as a career goal or already come from an entrepreneurial family background.

Best Possible Conditions for Your Academic Success
The PFH gears the content of the study programmes directly to the requirements that await you as a graduate in professional practice. To do this, the PFH constantly involves partner companies in the design and further development of their study programmes. This enables the PFH to guarantee high quality in its management study programme and to offer unique courses in key technology fields like carbon materials/composites. The latest research results achieved by their professors are included directly in your study programme.
The university is represented by campus locations in the student town of Göttingen, in the capital Berlin and in Stade near Hamburg. Depending on your choice of study programme, you will study at one of the three campus locations or choose between several alternatives. All three of the PFH's campus locations have modern equipment, good connections and thus provide the best conditions for your studies.
Why Study Privately at the PFH?
If you are wondering what differences there are between studying at a state university and the privately run PFH, you will find below some of the advantages that our study programme offers you.
Practically Oriented Study Programme The content of the study programmes is geared to the real needs of business. Furthermore, all the PFH's on-campus study programmes contain a high practical element. Depending on course of study, practical projects with collaborating companies, extensive work placements and/or a technical qualification in laboratories and workshops complement the theoretical content. This will remove any reality shock that you may face when entering working life.
Successful Study Programme Concept The demand for our graduates proves that the PFH's study programme concept is working well: 99 percent of them find direct entry to a career in less than six months after completing their studies. Many are recruited even while they are studying.
Individual Supervision Rather Than Full Lecture Theatres The courses take place in small groups – over-full lecture theatres and lecturers that hardly know their students do not exist at the PFH. Their professors are always ready to listen to you and advise you about subjects relating to your studies as well as questions concerning your career path. A study programme at the PFH will develop you individually in terms of both your subject matter and personal skills. The PFH attach importance to your always having a contact person for your concerns during your studies and to our achieving your goals together.
