Utah
Utah's public education system, the Utah System of Higher Education, has four (soon to be five) institutions with graduate programs. Each graduate program has been selected to be a right 'fit' for Utah — wonderful faculty and rigorous coursework leading to great career opportunities. Together, we are building a Strong State of Minds.
Graduate Studies in Utah
All graduate programs in Utah are either accredited, or will be accredited within a few years. The programs awaiting accreditation are new and have recently been added to Utah's portfolio to enhance opportunities for career pursuits. Choosing any graduate program in Utah would not only be a worthy endeavor, but financially a wise decision as well.
The Utah legislature distributes to the institutions a large sum of money each year to keep tuition down for students and to attract and retain incredible faculty. So, overall, students in Utah get a classroom experience worth their time and money.
Leisure and Recreation
Of course Utah is well known for many opportunities outside the classroom. Utah has deserts, mountains, and even some wetlands. The seasons in Utah allow for a vast array of activities. To name a few:
-
Skiing and Snowboarding
"The Greatest Snow on Earth." Or at least we think so. The 2002 Winter Olympics are a testament to our pride. There are eleven ski resorts within an hour of Salt Lake City, and a few others near the other Utah universities. -
Climbing
Utah has some of the best rock in the world for climbing—some of it right on the Wasatch Front. There are all sorts to choose from. -
Camping
You can find camping in almost any environment Utah has to offer. Camping is perhaps Utahans' favorite outdoor family and group pastime. -
Four-wheeling
Utah is known for the Jeep trails in Southern Utah. But, you can find exciting rides all over the state.
Arts and Culture
Not only does Utah almost unlimited outdoor recreational possibilities, but it also has a lot to offer when it comes to the arts.
Sundance Film Festival, one of the world's foremost independent film festivals, is one of many exhibitions Utah has to offer.
Our award-winning Shakespearean festival is a long standing tradition at Southern Utah University. There are art activities throughout the state and throughout the year. Visit www.utah.com/arts/ for more information.
Considering Utah for your home is easy. Utah has everything you need: education is top notch, recreation is diverse, people are friendly, public safety is great, and real estate is ample.
