In the 1970s Aberystwyth University set up the first equine course, MSc Equine Studies to meet this demand, making Aberystwyth University the longest provider of equine related higher education in the UK.
The1990s saw the development of several undergraduate courses in equine science, which have proved very popular. However, this now meant that in order to maximize career potential within the equine industry students had to have a relevant post graduate qualification. To meet this demand a number of other post graduate Equine courses have been set up in UK.
A masters in Equine Science has proven, and continues to be, a valuable, well established and very well respected qualification which continues to open the door for its graduates to a whole host of exciting opportunities. The employment record for MSc students has always been excellent, many graduates holding exciting positions in the many facets of the equine industry, in particular senior positions in University/College lecturing and management, research establishments, commercial companies, advisory positions, consultancy, equine administrative posts, retail industry, journalism etc.
In addition, as with many post graduate qualifications these days, the course will also allow you to pursue a whole host of careers in other related and unrelated disciplines where a post graduate qualification leads to accelerated promotion and greater opportunities.
