
There are over 1500 full and part-time Science students at Wolverhampton taking an Honours Degree, Foundation Degree or HND. The huge range of courses reflects the School’s size and the expertise of its 90 or so academic teaching staff. The School has an international reputation for its teaching, and has received ‘Excellent’ ratings from the Quality Assurance Agency for the provision of many of its courses.
The School has a dedicated IT suite of over a hundred fully networked PC work-stations for all Science students, as well as a wide range of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.
Awards offered by the School of Applied Sciences include:
Biological Sciences: Animal Behaviour, Animal Management, Ecology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Equine Sports Science.
Biomedical Science and Physiology: Biomedicine, Human Biology and Molecular Medicine, allowing accreditation by the Institute of Biomedical Scientists or the Health Profession Council. Physiology awards Clinical Physiology, which is professionally accredited, and Human Physiology.
Forensic Science: Including combinations with either Criminal Justice or Law.
Geography and Environmental Science: Geography, Environmental Science, and Countryside and Sustainable Land Management.
Pharmacy and Pharmacology: Pharmacy, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Science.
Psychology: Programmes cover the core areas that meet the requirements for recognition by the British Psychological Society.
