Lancashire Business School at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is an international centre of excellence for business and management learning and research. The Business School’s teaching is of a high academic standard and is delivered by experienced professionals, with real business insight. We have a growing research reputation and nearly a third of the research conducted at Lancashire Business School was rated as world-leading or of international significance in the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008. 

Lancashire Business School offers a wide range of full-time and part-time postgraduate and research degree programmes including the prestigious MBA, business and management Masters qualifications and more specialist Masters, such as sustainable business, logistics and supply chain management, marketing and communication. Our academic programmes are supported by strong links with the business world and are underpinned by the latest research being conducted within the Business School.

The Full-time MBA at Lancashire Business School
The full-time MBA at Lancashire Business School at UCLan is an intensive one year programme, which offers a rigorous and challenging process of personal and managerial development, in which you are encouraged and expected to make your own unique contribution. The teaching on the MBA programme is of a high academic standard, and is delivered by experienced and inspiring professionals, with real business insight, and built on a growing research reputation. In addition, Lancashire Business School is highly research-active and our professors and research staff will share their knowledge and enthusiasm with you as you progress through your course.  Your fellow students are likely to come from a wide variety of countries and cultural backgrounds and to have very different work and life experiences, creating a truly rich and inspiring atmosphere in which to learn and share your knowledge.

The Lancashire Business School Part-time MBA
The Part-time MBA at Lancashire Business School is a three year programme, specifically designed for those already working in management or professional roles, and which runs one afternoon and evening per week. This leading qualification will provide a rigorous and challenging postgraduate business and management education, where you will develop alongside other experienced managers and business professionals.

Entry requirements
To gain entry to the Lancashire Business School MBA, you will need a recognised university undergraduate honours degree, with at least a lower second class classification, or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent and a minimum of 2 years relevant and appropriate work experience.

English Language Ability
If the principle language of instruction as an undergraduate has not been English, the applicant will need to satisfy the Admissions Tutor of an appropriate competence to study at Masters degree level. A range of qualifications and tests can be used to demonstrate ability in the use of the English language. Normally, the requirement for postgraduate study would be one of:

  • A score of 6.5 or above in British Council IELTS test.
  • A score of 600-650 in the TOEFL paper-based tests supported by a pass in the associated Test of Written English.
