Trinity College Dublin - School of Computer Science and Statistics

Trinity College was founded in 1592 and is situated in the heart of Dublin city with over 15,500 students from over 90 different countries. The university campus comprises over 40 acres and offers an exciting international experience where students enjoy a friendly atmosphere and lively social environment.

State of the art laboratories and computing facilities stand alongside some of Dublin’s finest historic buildings. Trinity College Library is the largest library in Ireland. Its collections of manuscripts and printed books have been built up since the end of the sixteenth century.

School of Computer Science and Statistics

Here at our School, we offer a wide range of study opportunities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our School has a strong reputation for research and innovation, spanning from world class basic research to the commercialization of our results.

We prepare our graduates to apply theory to solve practical problems, to work on substantial projects, individually or as part of a team, and to communicate effectively. These are important skills for any Computer Scientist or Statistician. Working closely with academics, our students are able to specialise in a wide range of areas and follow their own research interests.

At postgraduate level, students have the option of pursuing a PhD degree by research or by availing of one of the many taught MSc courses being offered.

    Many opportunities present for postgraduate and postdoctoral research in one of our many research groups which comprise: Compiler Design Research; Computational Linguistics; Computer Architecture; IT in Education; Distributed Systems: Foundations and Methods: Statistics; Graphics, Vision and Visualisation; Knowledge and Data Engineering; Networks and Telecommunications; Software Structure.
