The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is a private, not-for-profit, independent, research-driven institute developed and run with the support and cooperation of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and is dedicated to renewable energy and sustainable technology. The Institute currently offers Master’s degree programs in various science and engineering disciplines, with a focus on advanced energy and sustainability.
Masdar Institute welcomes applications from qualified local and international students and provides full scholarships to talented students who meet its high admission standards that match those of leading international universities.

Masdar Institute - Programs
The academic curriculum at the Masdar Institute is designed to provide students with fundamental and advanced training in engineering principles that relate to renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
Masdar Institute provides a cross-disciplinary course of study and research focused on advanced energy and sustainable technology. Our graduate programs integrate education and research to prepare graduate students to be innovators, creative scientists and critical thinkers.
Each degree program provides students with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and professional experience necessary for successful careers in industrial or academic roles that involve alternative energy and sustainable technologies.
Masdar Institute currently offers eight accredited two-year Master of Science programs developed in collaboration with MIT based on the US graduate education model.

Masdar Institute - Facilities
Designed by Foster & Partners, Masdar Institute campus provides a new benchmark as a model of sustainable living and working. Covering 43,000 sq m of purpose built research facilities and 11,000 sq m of laboratory space, the campus leverages the fullest use of innovation in energy-efficiency, sustainable practices, resource recycling, biodiversity, transportation and green building standards.
Masdar Institute’s state-of-the-art research facilities and equipment support the cutting-edge research being conducted in various areas by Masdar Institute faculty and students on topics including renewable energy technologies, smart grids and smart buildings, energy policy and planning, advanced electronic devices and water and environmental technologies.
Masdar Institute's Micro and Nanotechnology Labs includes: a 300-sq meter cleanroom facility (class 1000 & 100) which will host microfabrication tools such as an Atomic Layer Deposition system and an Electron-Beam Lithography system; and a 200-sq meter Electronic Microscopy facility including two Transmission Electron Microscopes. These tools support the development of new materials and designs for low-power electronics and photonic devices such as carbon nanotube based memory, photovoltaics, microfluidic systems and on-chip sensors.
