Why study in Maastricht?
You are ambitious. Your goal is to gain qualifications as the best worldwide. And you want to pursue your ambition at a top school in a vibrant environment where motivated students from all over the world benefit from top-of-class teaching and learning methods. If these are your goals, then the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics is definitely the right choice for you. The school offers you the chance to learn from the best: leading authorities in research and education with a reputation for academic excellence.
A truly international outlook
There are many features that make Maastricht a unique place to live and study. Our location in one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the Netherlands puts us at the crossroads of different cultures and in the heart of Europe. The city is known for the Maastricht Treaty, which marked the establishment of the European Union.
At the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, you encounter this international spirit: our students come from countries far and wide; our teaching staff is diverse; our programmes all have an international focus; we have links to companies and institutions in other countries; and almost all courses are taught in English.
A unique learning approach
Maastricht University has become famous for its pioneering approach to learning and teaching. As a student here, you will benefit from small tutorial groups of only 12 to 14 students, a personal academic relationship with your teachers and a highly interactive style of learning.
Our approach to the learning process involves the use of real-life cases in the classroom. This method has several unique features: it brings you to academic resources actively, rather than through passively listening to lectures or reading papers. It provides you with practical, concrete examples of the academic theory you study. It allows you to interact with your peers and teachers, giving you immediate feedback on your learning process. And it means that you develop your own deeper, more personal understanding of the concepts.
Internationally accredited and highly ranked
Our reputation has also been hallmarked by the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation. The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics is proud to be one of a very select group of less than 1% of business schools worldwide to be accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIS), the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
The school has also been recognised by several other external, independent organisations for the quality of its teaching staff, world-renowned learning methodology, academic excellence, research and facilities. The Choice Guide for Higher Education and the leading Dutch business magazine Elsevier have awarded the school’s programmes the number one spot in the Netherlands for several years running. The Financial Times ranked the school within the top 25 best business schools in Europe to offer programmes in the category ‘Master’s in Management’. The school climbed as high as the fourth place in the category ‘value for money’.
A master’s degree from the school is a passport to your future: reputed and recognised internationally, our rankings and accreditations are proof that you’re receiving the best possible quality of education. The top reputation of your degree will enhance your career opportunities around the world.
