IMI, its campus located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, combines Swiss technical excellence with global management expertise. The school offers a full range of state-of-the-art programmes. Its Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma programmes are recognized by Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in the UK and its degrees are validated by MMU. The Higher Diploma and BA Honours Degree programmes can currently be taken in three configurations:

• International hotel management
• International tourism and hotel management
• International tourism management
• European Culinary Management

In addition to its undergraduate programme, IMI offers its Postgraduate Diploma and MBA in International Hospitality Management. A University English Preparatory Course of twelve weeks or a four-week Intensive English certificate is offered at IMI to those students who need or wish to strengthen their English skills prior to their studies.

Language classes in French or German are an integral part of the curriculum. Each course covers a 5 or 6 month semester and a paid in-training (internship) may be taken after each academic stage. Our in-training department assists students in finding suitable positions in Switzerland or abroad.

IMI has adopted student personal development planning, an innovative UK process that is being adapted to the needs of different educational systems around the world. Personal development planning allows students to develop the general transferable business and social skills that employers truly value and to develop a portfolio which demonstrates that they possess these skills.
