Founded in 1885, Edge Hill has been providing high quality education for over 120 years. Teaching and learning within the Business School has been recognised as commendable by the Quality Assurance Agency. This praise is also extended to our learning resources. The department has links to professional bodies such as the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Institute of Marketing. The Business School new £8 million building opened in January 2009 on the main University site. Its attractiveness outside is matched by the facilities on offer inside. The latest, state-of-the-art IT equipment and learning spaces are complemented by supportive, approachable and understanding staff.

Academic strengths
Three taught postgraduate courses are offered. A full time MBA for students with relevant work experience provides the practical skills and knowledge needed for individuals to further their career, the MA Management course allows prospective managers to study a broad range of management topics and the MA Marketing Communications course offers the opportunities for those interested both in the areas of Marketing and Advertising Communications.

Students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and understanding of business and management and develop a range of skills attuned to the work environment. Work-related learning is a feature of our degrees and all students are afforded these valuable opportunities. Our teaching and learning methods, relatively small group sizes and the latest in computer resources ensure a lively and effective environment for students.

Career prospects
Courses and teaching methods across Edge Hill Business School have been designed in consultation with employers to ensure students graduate equipped with highly relevant knowledge as well as the appropriate skills to embark on their chosen career. An important aspect of all Edge Hill Business School’s postgraduate programmes is that students undertake a short placement with a company to carry out a project of importance to them, allowing an insight into UK business and providing a truly international experience.
