Location and Environment
Bournemouth, just two hours south west of London, is a popular seaside town with sandy beaches, a clean and friendly environment and a pleasant climate. Surrounded by sunning landscape it is a modern town with a lively social scene.
Social Life
As Bournemouth is one of the UK’s main providers of English language teaching and with many language schools located in the area there is a vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere with opportunities to explore the surrounding areas and get involved in different activities.
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can read, write, speak and understand English to a satisfactory level.
English language requirements, for the majority of our Bachelors and taught Masters courses, are normally a minimum of:
- IELTS (Academic) 6.0, or
- TOEFL 213 (computer-based), or
- TOEFL 550 (paper-based), or
- TOEFL (internet-based) 80, or
- successful completion of one of Bournemouth University’s Preparatory English Programmes
For some courses where communication is especially important, the grades required may be higher.
