Individual Thinking
Humanities research is reliant both on individual thinking and scholarship and on collaborative activity. It is vibrant, interactive and multifaceted. The School is committed to the identification and pursuit of cross-School, coherent research themes. These themes relate to topics such as Language; Textual Study and Interpretation; Corpus Research; Literary Studies; Cultural Interpretation and Heritage; Europe; Composition, Performance and Image. Themes currently provide the focus of School research seminars, which enable researchers from different disciplines and departments in the School to share ideas with each other and with the graduate student body, in an atmosphere of open and fruitful exchange.
You a taught or research postgraduate student will come into contact with leading researchers in a range of fields, and with a sizeable cohort of fellow postgraduates. We are dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of research inquiry. And you will also benefit from the broader research culture of a leading British Higher Education institution.
